Best place to get a laptop?

Post by CaptainJamesTKirk » Tue Aug 20, 2013 2:47 pm

I get paid soon and want a new laptop cause mine is slowly getting slower and turning into a paper weight. I dont want to spend too much money and want something with an hdmi port so I can hook it up to my tv. Wheres the best place to get the best deal? Frys, Newegg, Walmart, ect.?

If you like stores, definitely go to Fry's, they have good staff and a lot of laptops to choose from.
If you want to buy via internet, http://www.tigerdirect.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I've seen a lot of good offers.

Walmart and Microcenter have Back2School deals, so check them out. Fyi: Most of Fry's inventory is reburbished or used, so shop with caution. I also hear that their return process is a nightmare.

Thank you Mario and IOI. I picked a some that caught my eye. I wanted one with an hdmi port cause I would like to be able to connect it to my tv and play cs on a 56 inch and watch movies on it with out having to burn them. Could any let me know which one is the most bang for my buck.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.newegg.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The two websites I use for computer parts.

http://slickdeals.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I also use Slickdeals to find things sometimes.

This one you posted looks good, except the CPU is a dual-core @ 1.4GHz. Personally, I don't like that.

Any chance you could possibly increase your budget? Also, Black Frinday and Cyber Monday are near; could you wait a little bit longer?

Thanks for the post growth. I had to get a new one cause I was barely able to get on the forums. I went with a Gateway 522 series. It has the dual core but for now it will have to do. I plan on saving up money for a gaming laptop and will post suggestions for a new one then.
