What's your true mouse sensitivity?

Post by ScorpioN » Fri Jul 24, 2015 12:24 pm

Please post in the following format:

Mouse:
DPI:
Windows Sensitivity:
In-Game Sensitivity:
zoom_sensitivity_ratio:

True Sensitivity = DPI x Windows Multiplier x In-Game Sensitivity
True Sensitivity (zoomed) = True Sensitivity x zoom_sensitivity_ratio

zoom_sensitivity_ratio
For example, In your launch options add +zoom_sensitivity_ratio 1.0 for zoomed weapons. Default zoom_sensitivity_ratio is 1.2. That means while scoped-in your crosshair will move 1.2 times faster than normal.

One of the best AWPers in the world, Markeloff used zoom_sensitivity_ratio .98
Markeloff CSDM 2012 - Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRS5BF5bdLY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You might be wondering if a zoom_sensitivity_ratio that differs by .02 makes a difference and let me tell you, it does!
400 DPI x 2.80 x .84 = 940.8 true sensitivity
400 DPI x 2.80 x .82 = 918.4 true sensitivity.
That's a 21.6 value difference! To me, .82 feels sluggish while at .84 zoom sens I'm hitting all my flickshots.

Windows Multiplier:
1/11 = 0.0625
2/11 = 0.0125
3/11 = 0.25
4/11 = 0.5
5/11 = 0.75
6/11 = 1.0 (Default)
7/11 = 1.5
8/11 = 2.0
9/11 = 2.5
10/11 = 3.0
11/11 = 3.5

Best to leave your Windows Sensitivity at default 6/11 (middle notch) for a Windows Multiplier of 1.0. There may be problems with pixel skipping at 5/11 for example.

Interesting Read!
CS 1.6 Pro Player Sensitivity:

Ending Thoughts:
In the end, there is no "right" sensitivity. Pick what feels natural to you!

I'll go first! :D here is mine:
-------------------------------------------

Mouse: Razer Abyssus 2014
DPI: 400
Windows Sensitivity: 6/11
In-Game Sensitivity: 2.80
zoom_sensitivity_ratio: .84

True Sensitivity
= DPI x Windows Multiplier x In-Game Sensitivity
True Sensitivity = 400 x 1.0 x 2.80 = 1120

True Sensitivity (zoomed) = 1120 x .84 = 940.8

Mouse: Logitech G602
DPI: 1500
Windows Sensitivity: 6/11
In-Game Sensitivity: 0.7
zoom_sensitivity_ratio: 1.2

True Sensitivity = DPI x Windows Multiplier x In-Game Sensitivity
1500 x 1.0 x 0.7 = 1050

True Sensitivity (zoomed) = True Sensitivity x zoom_sensitivity_ratio
1050 x 1.2 =1260

Mouse: SteelSeries Rival
DPI: 800
Windows Sensitivity: 11/11
In-Game Sensitivity: 13 (used to be 16)
zoom_sensitivity_ratio: 1.2

True Sensitivity = DPI x Windows Multiplier x In-Game Sensitivity
True Sensitivity = 800 x 3.5 x 13 = 36400
True Sensitivity (zoomed) = 36400 x 1.2 = 43680

CSGO has ruined me for high sens however so in CSGO its:

DPI: 800
Windows Sensitivity: 6/11
In-Game Sensitivity: 2.41
zoom_sensitivity_ratio: 1.2

True Sensitivity = DPI x Windows Multiplier x In-Game Sensitivity
True Sensitivity = 800 x 1 x 2.41 = 1928
True Sensitivity (zoomed) = 1928 x 1.2 = 2313.6

I'm curious on what the rest of 40 cal members and players have as their sensitivity. If everyone could post theirs that would be appreciated. :D

I'm also using m_rawinput 1 (and sometimes Fnatic RInput.exe). cArn talks about RInput.exe in his "Theory of Counter-Strike Ep. 06" - (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7bTbjtHd4w" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
RInput.exe or m_rawinput 1 removes all mouse acceleration so it doesn't feel like my mouse is gliding on ice. You only need one of them though.

In my experience and exhaustive testing, I've noticed "m_rawinput 1" has a slight input lag, so I prefer RInput.exe. Feels more natural

Mouse: Razr DeathAdder 2013 6400 Dpi/4G
DPI: 2800
Windows Sensitivity: 6/11
In-Game Sensitivity: 4.0
zoom_sensitivity_ratio: 1.2

True Sensitivity = DPI x Windows Multiplier x In-Game Sensitivity
True Sensitivity = 2800 x 1 x 4.0 = 11200
True Sensitivity (zoomed) = x 1.2 = 13440

Damn Glazed...your sensitivity is 10 times mine  . I did use cpl_mousefix long time ago but took it out when I played natural selection. Having the right mouse and set up makes a ton of difference on accuracy. If I could only get my aim from 10 years ago lol.

I have a Gateway computer I bought off the shelf at Walmart with the cheapest, wireless, Logitech mouse I could find.

Imagine what I could do if I had better equipment.
Never confuse the facts with truth.
Fact = You shot me in the head.
Truth = I'm still better than you.
