Hello everyone.
I play on the gun game server. I am sure many hate me.
But, that's not why I am here.
I play on two different machines. I have a MSI laptop that I use with a Verizon MiFI device, the mifi is a wireless network device that uses a cellular signal. I get no packet loss.
I also play on my desktop connected directly to my router. My desktop is running a 2500k and a 980ti. I have also plugged directly into my modem. I experience packet loss on both a direct connection to my router and to my modem, as well as my laptop connected wirelessly to my router.
This isn't a CS problem, this is a problem with just the 40 cal servers. On other servers I get no packet loss and excellent FPS.
So, if anyone can post their settings IE rate, CL_updaterate, ETC, that would be great.
Thanks for reading.
Client Settings.. Packet loss :-(
Re: Client Settings.. Packet loss :-(
So you say you are getting packet loss on your wired network but not wireless?
Who is your inet connection with? Give me an IP and I can look at it from our end.
How do you decide what the packetloss is from your point of view?
What is your modem?
Also, tell me what your wired connection settings are on your PC. In particular these things will hurt your performance:
Jumbo Frames enabled
Large Send Offload enabled
Efficient Ethernet ON
Green Ethernet ON
Interrupt moderation
Receive Side Scaling OFF
RSS Queues low
TCP and UDP Checksum Offload OFF
ARP offload OFF
Don't force Speed and Duplex
Small RX and TX Buffers
and IMHO, Anything that says broadcom on it....
Again, for any one who did not catch it above, these are bad things.
I'm not your average forum nerd, I work in the building where DOCSIS was invented tho we keep those guys downstairs away from direct sunlight.

Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm the rest of his life.
