For anyone that uses Native steam client on Linux

Just to let anyone that is using linux with a native steam client the file system is

home/local/share/steam/steamapps/common/halflife/cstrike

BTW the files are hidden on the home screen (press ctrl h) to view the hidden files
Using Ubuntu 14.04 32bit on a crappy old laptop Celeron 2.2ghz 2GB ram 200gb hd

Max:30fps Avg:15fps

hey another oregonian! Thank you for the info on the steam client. Have been wanting to go back or dual boot a flavor of linux

Not possible if you're playing top tier. Wine, that other paid for one, just doesn't cut it. I was really into Linux and learning all about everything related to that area, but I had to dual partition. The hard truth to swallow is that the game and the drivers were tailored for windows.

For casual play and if you don't care about performance to an extent, and you prefer Linux. It's great!
